We created our website builder ranking for SEO by evaluating several key factors: basic features, technical optimization, and performance testing using specialized services. Each website builder was scored out of a maximum of 400 points, with 100 points available for each category: Technical Optimization Score, Google PageSpeed Score, GTMetrix Score, and Pingdom Score.
Basic features, such as editing page titles and descriptions, changing the favicon, and connecting a custom domain with an SSL certificate, were considered standard and did not earn additional points. For technical optimization, we assessed the management of 404 pages, automatic creation of robots.txt files with sitemap links, proper handling of URL redirections, and prevention of duplicate content. Performance testing involved evaluating website templates using Google PageSpeed Insight for mobile performance, and GTMetrix and Pingdom for desktop performance. Each of these tests provided a detailed score that contributed to the overall ranking, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of the website builders' SEO capabilities.
